NorDan Hits Record Mark with Largest Order to Date
The first delivery of windows from NorDan, with a total value of £5.1 million was supplied to the construction site of Brunel Street Works in February. The order is the single largest taken in the company’s 90-year history.
The landmark order for the East London project was placed with NorDan last year and marks a continued partnership between NorDan and end client, Galliford Try.
Specific Demands
The project NorDan will contribute to spans a total of 19,500 m2 of windows and doors, spread out over approx. 155 floor levels. With road traffic noise and London City Airport close by, finding products that could deliver on both energy efficiency, acoustic requirements and light transmittance at the same time was a tall order. The flexible NorDan NTech platform, combined with a heat strengthened and laminated special high-performance solar control glazing, became the answer for the massive Brunel Street Works project.
Partnership and Cooperation
NorDan’s factories in Poland will manufacture the windows, and a new delivery will take place on the construction site every month for the next two years. NorDan will be delivering windows to all of the 975 residential units on the project, as well as the 152-room hotel within the development. As always, with projects of this scale, NorDan has collaborated closely with the client and architects, supplying design advice, technical compliance and cost and logistics planning.
