NorDan Named as Supplier for Major Regeneration Project in Leeds
NorDan UK will be the supplier of approx. 3210m2 of windows and doors for 224 luxurious private apartments in Springwell Gardens, Leeds.
NorDan is proud to have been picked to supply a range of products to the Springwell Gardens development in Leeds South Bank, hailed as one of the largest regeneration projects in Europe, along with being one of the biggest changes to the city of Leeds in over 100 years.
Working with Citylife, Nick Brown Architects, and Morgan Sindall, NorDan’s first delivery of products will be in June 2022, with the project having an estimated overall completion date in 2023.
The products specified include NorDan NTech double balcony doors with multiple sashes and Q-railings, as well as inward-opening, Alu-clad timber windows.
Through early engagement with NorDan’s in-house specification team, and an in-depth understanding of the client’s wishes, NorDan was able to recommend the best products for this specific project.
The client was seeking products that would provide an exceptionally low U-value of 0.8 and fit large opening casements – NorDan UK was able to achieve this with products specified for full height sashes of 2240mm and triple glazing.
We were also chosen because of the 60-year minimum lifespan, ultra-low maintenance requirements of our products, and added noise reduction qualities of our triple glazing with an advanced acoustic requirement on 35db Rw+Ctr.
NorDan’s products are manufactured with Scandinavian heartwood timber and clad in powder-coated aluminium for added resistance against wear, tear, water ingress and fungal attack.
Originally designed to withstand the harsh weather of Norway, NorDan’s products hold up perfectly against the UK climate. They are also certified by Secured By Design to provide a safe and secure product that will resist forced entry.
The team also has a passion for ensuring all stakeholders are given a consistent approach through every project and works with our supply chain to ensure the product package we are presenting is commercially viable.
Additionally, this allows NorDan’s products to be as environmentally sustainable as possible. Its Alu-clad timber products present a low-embodied carbon fenestration solution that keeps the carbon footprint of housing projects to a minimum, thanks to the carbon sink qualities and sustainability of timber as a building material.
This contract marks one of three recent supply contract wins for NorDan across Northern England, including Stannington, Sheffield and Kara Street, Salford.
