NorDan's Commitment to Community

Here at NorDan, our mission has always had its roots in building a better future – not just through our products, but through our actions too. We recognise the need for support among the vulnerable populations of our local communities; so, we have decided to channel our resources and influence towards raising vital funds for food banks in areas with multiple NorDan locations.

Food banks provide essential services to those who need them most, working to ensure that no family goes hungry. This fundraising campaign is multifaceted, with each NorDan location participating in different activities to raise money and highlight the pressing issue of food insecurity in our local areas.

Livingston

Our Livingston office has chosen to raise funds for the Trussell Trust West Lothian Food Bank in the local area.

The team has been busy donating their time to the food bank, volunteering to prepare food packages and pack meals for those in need. They found this to be a deeply rewarding experience that put into perspective how many families in their local area actually use the services of food banks.

In September, the team at NorDan Livingston will head back to the West Lothian Food Bank for another day of volunteering.

Aberdeen

Our Aberdeen office is raising funds for the Trussell Trust, working towards a just and compassionate future where no one should have to use the services of a food bank just to get by.

So far in the fundraising campaign, colleagues at NorDan Aberdeen have participated in the Aberdeen Kilt Walk, walking 18 miles from Duthie Park to Banchory. And along with some internal fundraising, NorDan Aberdeen has raised over £1,700 so far for the Trussell Trust.

Highlighting NorDan’s commitment to sustainability, colleagues have also been recycling their aluminium, which contributed over £940 to the fundraising total.

NorDan Aberdeen’s future plans include a bingo event and bake sale later in the year, as well as other social events which will raise further funds for this great cause.

Scandic

Committed to giving back to the local community, our Scandic office is raising funds for Exeter Food bank, where the office is based.

So colleagues have raised money by holding a bake sale, inviting local businesses to attend and purchase delicious homemade cakes and treats, an office fundraising day with a quiz, a Derby Sweepstake, and the chance to sponge colleague Ricky Davey!

For future fundraisers, NorDan Scandic is currently raising money for a boat race taking place in September. The funds raised from this will be split between Exeter Food Bank and another vital charity, the Devon Air Ambulance.

Doing Good for the Community

The funds raised by NorDan will be used to buy good quality food, expanding storage facilities and enhancing distribution to allow the local food banks we support to serve as many families as possible, ensuring that nutritious meals are readily available to those in need.

Our commitment to supporting local food banks is a reflection of our values and dedication to community spirit and corporate responsibility. We also hope our fundraising efforts will help to raise awareness of the important role that foodbanks play within local communities and encourage others to start their own fundraising efforts.

As our own fundraising efforts continue, we invite everyone to participate, from our customers to our own supply chain. Whether it's through donations to one of our fundraisers, holding your own event, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, every small action counts.

Together we hope to build a stronger and more compassionate future for our local communities where no one goes hungry.
