The Great Manchester Boom
For years, London has been the focus of the construction industry. With billions of pounds invested and thousands of construction sites appearing all over the city, the capital’s construction sector has been thriving for decades. However, over recent years, there has been great investment into the North of England with Manchester taking centre stage as the building industries’ fastest growing city in Europe.
Newest figures have revealed that the construction output in the North West is ten times the national average. According to the Office of National Statistics, the total construction output across the area is up 15% to an excess of £4.6 billion in the three months from July to August 2018 compared to the same months in 2017.
We at NorDan are extremely proud to be a part of this success in the North of England with many projects under our belt this year. One project that stands out to us the most is the Clippers Quay development, which we were thrilled to be supplying windows to.
Clippers Quay is one of the largest Private Rental Sector projects outside of London with 614 new homes, along with commercial and amenity space, being created. The development spreads across five individual blocks and is over ten stories in height.
NorDan have supplied Tilt and Turn Windows and Top Swing Top Tech Windows to the development. With a life expectancy of up to 60 years and low maintenance to match, residents can relax and spend time on things that matter to them without having to give their windows a second thought.
