A Legacy of Innovation & Quality Since 1926
For nearly a century, NorDan has been at the forefront of window and door innovation, combining Scandinavian craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology.
The Pittrichie Mansion house was originally constructed around 1818, located in Whiterashes, Aberdeen. Bought in 2015, the owner set out to restore the mansions shell, fully revamping the outer and inner of the building. NorDan played an important role of supplying twenty-four sash and case look-a-like StormGuard windows, vital to the projects desire to preserve the original style of the mansion house.
Over 10 years later, the windows installed have remained in fantastic condition with no defects or mechanical failures and issues. The property owner reported having no issues of any kind and have found the windows to be very reliable.
The mansion house had previously been walled ruins, neglected and left to sit on the Buildings at Risk Register. In 2015 the renovation was started with the main goal to restore it to its former glory, keeping the original 19th century look. For windows, it was key to have an inkeeping style to the building whilst also having a high-performing, modern product.
The revitalised mansion now offers a harmonious blend of history and modern living. The mock sash and case windows sit elegantly in the original stonework of the mansion whilst providing class leading U-values for their chosen window configuration. Glazing bars add the finishing touches to the 19th century style home.
