West Lothian College Eco Homes Training Facility

The ECOHOUSE at West Lothian College is two purpose-built semi-detached houses which provide a sustainable state of the art training facility which will cater for the ever-changing needs of the industry sectors that aim to meet the challenges of reaching a net zero carbon economy. The £493,436 project was funded by West Lothian Council.

The project necessitated high-performance windows and doors with low u-values, alongside a focus on reducing carbon emissions to achieve Net Zero status. NorDan’s windows and doors excel in this application due to their longevity, surpassing 60 years, and their use of timber, which acts as a natural carbon sink, storing more carbon than it emits during its growth period.

The StormGuard window from our product line stands out for its remarkable durability and minimal need for maintenance, which greatly reduces callbacks.

Utilising engineered and vacuum impregnated timber, our product guarantees a service life of

60+ years. This ensures that buildings remain well-insulated and protected throughout this extended duration while also boasting an incredibly low environmental impact.
