Adjusting the sails for growth and stability with new Aberdeen Management Team

NorDan has made substantial progress recently, with an increased turnover of 85% from 2016 to 2021. In addition, the forecast for 2022 is also encouraging, with 35% growth year-on-year.

This growth is satisfying because it has been achieved in the face of particularly challenging economic headwinds. So, with NorDan on course for yet another record year in terms of turnover and profitability, what has been the key to our success?

The answer is simple, our people. We have made significant changes to meet a rapidly changing world, including promoting key staff members from within.

Aberdeen Promotions

The most significant change will be to our Aberdeen office. Promotions from within include new General Manager Nicola Webster and new Sales Manager Craig Thomson.

Alex Brown, Managing Director, commented:

In the recent weeks since the deserved promotions for Nicola and Craig, we have seen improved performance and absolute stability throughout the Aberdeen business unit.

In Aberdeen, we have several long-term, valued customers. Nicola and Craig are aware of the high level of service that has been demonstrated over the years to these customers. Looking ahead, I have no concerns this service will continue and further improve.

I'm delighted at the changes and the fantastic job both have done in such a short time. The impact has been visible for all to see. I'm confident our Aberdeen and Inverness business units will evolve and reap the rewards of growth in the coming years under our new management team.

Joining Nicola and Craig is Nigel Barton – Sales Manager for the Inverness region. Nicola, Craig and Nigel will spearhead the new Aberdeen management team. While 2022 has been another successful year, 2023 and beyond is where NorDan is looking to excel compared to previous years.

Gillian Irvine, Finance Director, commented:

NorDan has seen encouraging financial results over the last 3-5 years; however, I'm more excited than ever about the future.

These recent changes to the Aberdeen management team have given our business in the area a renewed energy. Nicola, Craig and Nigel have made a real contribution to our business in recent years, and their enthusiasm and drive will only help take our business to the next level. I'm sure they will have the full support from colleagues across the UK.

Craig Greenwood, NorDan UK Commercial Director, has overseen a dramatic upturn in NorDan business in the London market, but he has also commented on the new management reign in Aberdeen:

Our salespersons in the London market work with some of Europe's most prominent clients and contractors. However, after spending some time in Aberdeen, I can see some incredible people and companies in the area with whom our Aberdeen team will work hard to build lasting relationships.

The knowledge within the team and the entire staff in Aberdeen and Inverness is admirable. NorDan first entered the UK market in Aberdeen over 40 years ago and being in the area, you can feel that connection and history. Like Alex and Gillian, I am looking forward to the future, and I am certain that Nicola, Craig and Nigel will drive NorDan in Aberdeen to even greater heights.

New General Manager, Nicola Webster commented:

I have always been proud to work for NorDan, and this is an exciting time to be part of the business as it continues to grow yearly. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to take on the role of General Manager for Aberdeen and Inverness. I work with a fantastic team, and it is thanks to them our business has achieved such great success. This will continue as we look to the future together.

We are fortunate to have a long-standing customer base in Aberdeen. These customers will be a real focus for me in my new role, along with our Sales Managers Craig Thomson and Nigel Barton, to maintain these valued relationships and care for our existing customers.
