Celebrating the Development and Success of Our Women in Business
Today on International Women's Day, 8th March 2022, we’re celebrating the wonderful women of NorDan and the recent NorDan Group award-winning strategic project focused on Female Leadership.
Almost 100 years since its inception, NorDan has grown to span the globe.
It’s important to us that we maintain our mission and values across the Group, which we achieve by running over ten international strategic projects each year. We’re also committed to furthering the careers and influence of our people, particularly through providing personal growth and development opportunities.
In recognition of the hard work that goes into these projects and the success of our people, we hold an awards ceremony (virtually at present) and honour the best strategic project with the Golden Window Award.
This year’s well-deserved winner was the Female Leadership project, managed by our own Finance Director, Gillian Irvine (NorDan UK), and Marie Johansson (NorDan Sverige).
This project brought together women from Ireland to China to research and develop strategies that promote female success within the NorDan Group.
Project team members Lou Johnson (UK), Helena Sjölin (Sweden), Lisbeth Otterness (Norway), Anna Mańczak (Poland), Rosemary Docherty (Ireland), Giedrė Antanavičė (Lithuania), Louise Korfing Kieler (Denmark) and Rebecca Qui (China) attended regular meetings throughout the year, honing their remote and cross-cultural working skills.
Gillian and Marie successfully led the project team to the development of practical recommendations that will be incorporated into the business going forward.
The women involved in the project had glowing feedback on its success and strength of leadership:
