Kirsty Gilmour Wins Scottish Open
Kirsty Gilmour wins Scottish Open in her home town, Glasgow. Kirsty entered the event with the pressure of being No.1 seed in a venue where she had three times previously picked up a runners up medal. However, this was not to be the case this time round.
Kirsty worked hard to battle through a difficlut first set against an opponent she had never faced before. Mia Blichfeldt, No.3 seed won four straight points to set up a close end to the set, which Gilmour eventually won 23-21.
The Dane also started the second set strongly, again winning four points in a row. However, Kirsty’s speed, power and relentless energy proved to be too much as she took control on a second set which she eventually won 21-12.
