New Avenue, Southgate
We are proud to announce that NorDan has secured the windows and doors contract for phase 1 of the new residential development at New Avenue in Southgate, London, N14. The £160m regeneration programme will see more than 450 new homes built for the area by developer Countryside with HTA Architects, in partnership with Enfield Council.
Existing apartment buildings on Coverack Close, Shepcot House and Beardow Grove will be demolished to make way for the new development, as a flagship project within Enfield’s estates renewal programme, the redevelopment will increase the number of homes from 171 to 412. Plans include a mix of apartments, maisonettes and houses that will be made available for social rent and private sale.
The £140m regeneration project, designed by architects HTA, also includes a multi-purpose community centre and a pre-school nursery. All existing council tenants will be given the option where possible of being rehoused within the scheme if they choose, and residents of Enfield will have the first opportunity to purchase the new homes.
We will be supplying the NorDan N-Tech 1.2 double glazed aluminium clad timber windows and doors. Specifically, our Topswing windows and balcony doors. We worked closely with the client to plan and achieve the required acoustics for the project which for for some areas of the site is 45 dB Rw, which for a single window is a very high acoustic performance rating.
A new multi-purpose community centre and pre-school nursery will also be constructed with a view to bringing social, economic and environmental benefits to the estate and local area and completion is due in spring 2023.
