NorDan Supplying StormGuard Windows for Project at Stannington
NorDan UK to supply windows for 261 social rental properties across three tower blocks in Sheffield.
NorDan UK is pleased to announce that it has won a contract through Wates and Sheffield City Council to supply approx. 1150 StormGuard three handle tilt and turn windows to a new social housing development in Stannington, Sheffield.
The windows will be installed across 261 separate residences in three 15-storey tower blocks, as part of a new rental development for the area.
Early engagement with the client, as well as taking the time to fully understand their specific requirements, were significant contributing factors to NorDan winning this contract.
A key requirement of the project was windows that can achieve a desired U-value of 1.2 – NorDan’s double glazed products comfortably meet this specification.
By engaging early, NorDan was able to demonstrate its full range of products as well as its product and technical competency, which gave us the opportunity to make recommendations that were best suited to this project.
Working through its in-house Specification Team, NorDan UK is dedicated to applying a consistent approach to all stakeholders to ensure cohesion and uniformity throughout the entire specification process.
This enables NorDan to ensure that the product package we are providing is commercially viable as well as being environmentally friendly thanks to the exceptionally low u-values and low embodied carbon of its Alu-clad timber windows.
Stannington isn’t the first development in Sheffield to use NorDan’s products.
Castle Court in the Sheffield City Centre was fitted with NorDan StormGuard Alu-clad tilt & turn windows all the way back in 1991. Impressively, there has not been a single call back on any of the windows fitted. A true testament to the promise of NorDan products lasting at least 60 years.
Having worked with Sheffield City Council already, NorDan was able to prove first-hand the durability and sustainability of its products – another contributing factor towards the successful contract win.
This contract for the Stannington development marks one of three recent wins for NorDan across Northern England, including Springwell Gardens in Leeds and Kara Street in Salford.
